Our client is a leading global supplier of food and beverage ingredients with revenues of more than $11B.

 

They wanted to help their customers, and global food brands to achieve sustainable sourcing and end-to-end traceability of healthy ingredients. However, the fragmented agri-supply chains lack transparency and pose traceability challenges.

 

We developed a comprehensive digital sourcing platform to help connect the agri company with farmers/ suppliers and thereby enabled higher sourcing efficiency and improved traceability.

 

The solution we build provides an option to transact directly with the buyer. This provides transparent procurement practices, further improving farmer price realization.

About the client

The client is a global $11B company, has widespread operations across 60+ countries. Their business operations involve sourcing, processing, and distributing food ingredients and agricultural commodities to a wide customer base.

 

The problem

Lack of centralized database and metrics tracking

The client aims to serve its global customers' by meeting the increasing consumer demands for sustainable sourcing and healthy foods. However, the client needed help in meeting these goals due to the following challenges:

Our solution

The thought process: Build a comprehensive digital application for direct engagement with agri-supply chain stakeholders and improve sourcing efficiency.

MINDSPRINT built an engagement platform connecting the client with farmers and suppliers, enabling higher sourcing efficiency. We built four interlinked    applications –

01 Three mobile applications for the suppliers (farmers, micro-collectors and farmer leads)
  • Farmer app

This is a game changing enabler app for the farmers. It allows them to set up their produce for sale, set prices, and receive payment through this application. Additionally, they can source farming inputs at a subsidized rate via the application.

  • Micro-collector app

This app enables third party buyers to transition into becoming Micro- entrepreneurs, collecting crops from farmers in exchange for a regular income.

  • Farmer-lead app

This app facilitates the client to directly position their representatives on-ground and interact with farmers regularly. It also helps to disseminate loans and inputs to the farmers.

The portal is a one-stop platform that enables the client to maximize product quality control and receive actionable insights using analytics. It also equips the client with supplier and farmer overviews, product and price listing, and facilitates account management and payment.
